Quantum Group
I led the design and project coordination of a custom, multi-set broadcast studio for Quantum Group, a financial services firm that helps advisory practices grow through insurance solutions, strategic marketing, and operational support. The studio was designed not only for Quantum’s internal productions, such as interviews and digital content, but also as a rentable space adaptable to a wide variety of client brands and broadcast formats.
Housed across two rooms—one approximately 30' x 40', the other 15' x 30'—the project included three distinct yet cohesive sets, each built around a modern, minimalistic aesthetic. The client’s top priorities were versatility, functionality, and a polished look both on camera and in person.
As Senior Set Designer, I led creative development from concept through fabrication. I modeled the sets in SketchUp, rendered visuals in Vray, and collaborated with our technical designer to develop detailed AutoCAD construction drawings for CNC routing and shop use. I also handled client presentations, material selection, and vendor sourcing. In addition to design, I managed key aspects of project execution—coordinating timelines, client communications, quoting, vendor logistics, and on-site installation. The project involved a large client team, requiring constant collaboration and flexibility to align varying priorities and expectations.
In the larger room, the primary corner news set features dual 4x1 video wall arrays and a custom news desk with an integrated curved, flexible direct-view LED video wall, my first time working with this technology, and a standout feature. The adjacent set includes a 98” display, curved corner frames to mimic a cyclorama, and a custom height-adjustable table, which was later adapted into one of our standard product offerings. The smaller room hosts a more informal interview setup with three wall-mounted TVs on motorized actuators, RGB LED lighting, and a casual seating area. A small standing zone was also included for solo, direct-to-camera presentations.
The finished studio has proven to be a valuable asset for Quantum, impressing their clients, supporting a wide range of production formats, and generating new business. Seeing so many custom elements, from flexible lighting strategies to purpose-built furniture, come to life in a single space made this one of the most creatively rewarding projects I’ve worked on.
NAB Show Booth
I led the design and project management of TVSetDesigns.com’s trade show booths at the NAB Show, the world’s largest broadcast trade show, in 2024 and 2025. Each 10’ x 30’ perimeter booth, with elements up to 12’ high, was designed to attract attention, showcase our desk products, and push the boundaries of our Modular Set Frame System by integrating new, repeatable elements. Beyond design, I applied my marketing expertise to ensure the booths reflected current trends, client needs, and positioning for higher-end markets.
As designer and project manager, I developed the concept, sketched 2D elevations, created 3D models and renderings, and produced full construction documentation. I applied and modified our standard modular set frames to achieve each year’s distinct design while maintaining flexibility for fabrication and installation. Weekly review meetings with ownership and sales ensured alignment on functionality, aesthetics, and client engagement. I coordinated vendor sourcing, oversaw fabrication, and managed on-site installation both years.
The 2024 booth emphasized sharp angles, industrial finishes, and bold blue tones, introducing the Panoramic Monolith Desk, a desk I designed on our Monolith Desk infrastructure with a hydraulic-assisted folding top. The booth featured a 4x1 video wall monitor array, backlit SEG graphics, and display shelves for decor and print collateral. This year marked the first use of our RGBW Lightbox Headers as a full wrap-around, demonstrating the expanded capabilities of our modular system. The design balanced visual impact with modular functionality and established a foundation for future, repeatable elements.
The 2025 booth shifted to warm beige tones and soft curves, creating a more inviting, talk-show-style environment. It featured the Panoramic Monolith Desk, a Round Table with electric height adjustment, and interactive elements, including a lighting demonstration to show how our sets can adjust to match branding or broadcast tones. Visitors could view the rear of the set, highlighting the Modular Set Frame System, and interact with desks and displays, including 3D-printed desk models. The RGBW Header wrap concept from 2024 was extended to encompass the entire 2025 set.
Both booths generated hundreds of high-value leads and over $1M in sales. The 2024 booth directly led to our partnership with NAB in 2025, where our desks were featured on multiple stages, and collaborations with KinoFlo provided live demonstrations of our products. Design elements from both years have influenced client projects and informed updates to our standard modular offerings, proving the booth served as both a marketing platform and a laboratory for testing and refining new, repeatable design solutions.
Freedom Project
I designed a custom, modular news desk for Freedom Project, an educational organization, creating a high-impact studio element within a compact 12-foot space. The desk needed to be repositionable, feature RGBW lighting, acrylic surfaces, and tunable chin lights, while maintaining a modern, minimalist, high-tech aesthetic inspired by the Good Morning America desk.
As the designer, I developed the concept, created 3D models and VRay renderings, and worked with our technical designer to produce CAD files for fabrication. All design work was done remotely, with client collaboration via Zoom and project management software. I worked closely with our in-house master craftsman to clarify design intent and ensure the build met both aesthetic and functional goals.
The desk is a modified half-circle shape with a variable-depth top that tapers at the ends, creating the illusion of a larger footprint while fitting within a smaller footprint. It was built in three modules that maintain a seamless appearance and can be arranged in three different configurations, providing maximum flexibility for studio setups. Forced perspective and precise geometry were applied to make the tapered curve and modular sections appear natural on camera, masking the desk’s unusual footprint.
Technology integration included a curved monitor on a rolling stand, RGBW lightboxes, edge and underglow lighting, and tunable white eye lights. The desk was constructed with furniture-grade plywood, featuring a Chemetal metallic brushed aluminum phenolic-backed laminate and a flame-polished acrylic top.
The desk has provided a professional studio environment for the client and enhanced the overall visual presence of the space. The project highlights my ability to overcome complex spatial challenges, apply modular design principles creatively, and integrate lighting strategies in innovative ways. It showcases a blend of design expertise, technical precision, and practical construction knowledge.
Set Design
This gallery presents a selection of my set design work from the past 1.5 years, representing projects across broadcast, corporate, education, healthcare, and government clients. Each set was designed to balance cost-efficiency with strong visual identity, giving organizations adaptable solutions to launch, upgrade, or expand their productions. The collection demonstrates the breadth of my work and how I create individuality within our Modular Set Frame System.
As designer from concept through fabrication, I handled every stage of the process: quoting, conceptual development, 3D modeling and visualization in SketchUp and V-Ray, and oversight of in-house fabrication. Close collaboration with clients, vendors, and our fabrication team ensured designs met functional and aesthetic goals while staying within constraints of space and budget. I regularly managed 5–10 clients at once, tailoring each design to their unique needs while leveraging our repeatable system to streamline production.
Common project features included lighting integration, monitor walls, and custom desks, all customized to align with each client’s brand. A key challenge across these projects was maximizing visual impact in small spaces and within tight budgets, which pushed me to develop solutions that balanced individuality with repeatability. My ability to apply and adapt our modular system allowed clients to later expand or upgrade their sets, a benefit that has led to repeat business and long-term client relationships.
This gallery illustrates how I unify adaptability, creativity, and technical precision across multiple projects. Each example demonstrates my capacity to deliver distinct, client-centered designs within an established system, while also showcasing my ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain consistency of quality and innovation.
